Section VI-B
Active membership
( Voting Membership)
Voting membership in the Alliance House of Representatives is a privilege to be granted to Muslim organizations in Arizona who have met the following requirements:
- To be registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit organization, at least two years before joining the Alliance, or if organized by a student or employee group to be registered with its respective establishment for at least 2 years.
- Its decision-making is conducted by a consultative body of at least five persons, and it is a grassroots organization supported by at least 50 local members, to be verified by the Alliance Board.
- Its Islamic nature and purpose are clearly stated in its bylaws or articles of incorporation and it has resolved to support the Alliance, agree with its purposes and abide by its Bylaws, and
- The Alliance Board has voted that the applicant organization’s structure, mission, and vision meet the eligibility requirements of the Alliance.
- The House of Representatives has voted that it is in the best interest of the Alliance to accept it as a member before joining the Alliance.
Section IV- C
Associate Membership
(Non-Voting Membership)
An Associate Member organization is an Arizona organization that:
- Benefits the Arizona Muslim Community
- Resolve to support the Alliance.
- Agrees to abide by the Alliance bylaws and policies
- The Alliance Board has voted that the applicant organization has met the Associate membership requirements
- The Alliance (HR) has voted that it is in the best interest of the Alliance to accept it as an associate member before joining the Alliance.
- Any associate member organization may be promoted to an Active Member upon request, and when it has met all the requirements of active membership as specified in Section IV-B of the AMA Bylaws

- Copy of the organizational bylaws
- Copy of the article of incorporation showing AZ State’s stamp of approval
- Copy of the IRS letter for 501-c tax exemption status
- Copy of brochure or relevant publications by the organization
- Proof of the size of the membership

- For any Muslim organization: An authentic organizational charter showing the Islamic nature or purpose of the organization
- For Muslim businesses, brochures or publications showing services to the Muslim community
