Join us for a weekend with master calligrapher and world renowned artist Haji Noor Deen!
"Patience is Beautiful" is a message Haji Noor Deen often repeats to his students.
Arabic calligraphy is considered an Islamic science (akin to fiqh and tafsir) because it preserves the written Word of Allah and is a means of purifying the nafs. Haji Noor Deen is a master of Arabic Calligraphy in the Chinese Tradition and the Thuluth and Naskh Scripts.
ICEV Community Night on Saturday, Jan 18th:
Location: Islamic Center of the East Valley
7:30pm - Presentation on 1,000 year history of Islamic Art in China and demonstration
Original artwork will be available for purchase and live commissions
FREE and no registration required
Select the script (Chinese style or Thuluth/Naskh) you are interested in studying and register for those workshops on Saturday and Sunday. Note that this is part of a two-day workshop; to get a more full experience, attend both days of the script you selected to study.
If you just want an introduction to a script, Saturday's workshops are perfect for you as they are only 1.5 hours long. This is available to all ages, however, if someone is younger than 14, they must be accompanied with an adult and be able to patiently sit and write.
If you can only attend a workshop on Sunday, you may register to attend a workshop on Sunday.
Workshops have limited spots available.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Fatima at 602-515-6929.
